First of all, a big thanks to all of you amazing ladies who came out to our Ladies Night even though the weather was pretty terrible! We really enjoyed having you, and are thrilled you were able to see some of the great selection of plants and edibles we are offering this year! Believe it or not we have received a lot more since Thursday! We compiled a list of all our ladies night recipes since so many of you commented about the appetizers and beverages!
Cucumber Dill Appetizer
1- 8 ounce package of cream cheese
1/2 cup of mayo
1 packet of dry Italian seasoning
Small bunch of fresh dill
A few cucumbers (amount needed depends on the size of the cucumber)
In a bowl mix together cream cheese and mayo. Add Italian Seasoning. Slice cucumbers and arrange on serving dish. Cut the corner of a plastic ziplock bag and fill with dip. Squeeze a dollop of dip onto each cucumber. Place a small piece of fresh dill on each cucumber. Enjoy!
Healthy Kale Dip
1- 32 ounce tub of nonfat plain greek yogurt
1- packet of dry Ranch Seasoning (I prefer Hidden Valley)
8-10 ounces of chopped, steamed kale (can use frozen or fresh, or substitute spinach)
Combine all ingredients, and refrigerate until use. Serve with fresh vegetables, crackers, or bread. Looks great in a bread bowl!
Herb Infused Olive Oil for Dipping
Depending on whether you are using fresh or dried herbs the method for infusing your oil can be slightly different. When using fresh herbs you need to make sure there isn’t too much moisture. Check out the blog below for tips and methods for infusing oils.
Fruit Salsa with Cinnamon Sugar Pita Chips
When I make fruit salsa I use whatever fruit is in season and ripe! I chop the fruit into tiny pieces, add a spoonful of brown sugar, and let it sit together for at least a few hours before using. Serving them with either homemade or store bought cinnamon sugar chips really makes it an amazing appetizer that your family or guests will enjoy!
Since some of you prefer to have a recipe to follow, here is a great example of a good fruit salsa:
- 1/2 cup Blueberries
- 2 Kiwi
- 1/2 cup Raspberries and/or Blackberries
- 16 oz Strawberries
- 1 Mango
- 1/8 cup of chopped Basil
- 1-2 tablespoons of Brown Sugar
- Bag of Cinnamon Sugar Pita Chips
